1080 poison = Na+CH2FCOO- “superpoison” Fluoroacetate is a natural product which
blocks the Krebs cycle. Some plants in Aust. produce fluoroacetate to stop being eaten. Some skinks and emus are resistant.

• This is an unselective poison for mammals,
in Australia it has been used on pigs,
foxes, rabbits, (dingos?), in N.Z. rabbits & possums (80% of world productn).
• 1080 decomposes
quickly in water and soils but
is persistent in animal tissue.
• LD50 Pigs 4.11mg / kg - no antidote!
