DISPERSAL
• Air and water are the major routes for
 chemical dispersal.
• The distance of transport depends on the
reactivity of the chemical.
eg. SO2 < 4000 km,  CFC-12 global
• Dilution of the chemical occurs by transport and this effect must be calculated.
• Climatic and geographical features
will influence local concentrations.
eg. L.A. Smog, high [NOx] & [VOC], high hn.
• These physico-geographical parameters
need to be reported in any sampling program.
