CH1012 Modules.

The Modules are included as part of the assessment in CH1012 and are worth 5% of the final grade for the subject.

The Modules are to be found in the ASSIGNMENTS main menu.

You should use Internet Explorer (any recent version) to complete the modules otherwise your results may not be
stored correctly. Quite probably Firefox and Safari will also work but these have not been tested thoroughly.

The  modules are designed to open the Quiz pages in a separate window.  This requires that the browser you are using allows Pop-Ups.
In the GAT computer labs on Campus the configuration of the browser on the PC (or Mac) typically depends on the last user.
You should read the following link to find out how to set the Pop-Up blocking to off:
http://www.library.jcu.edu.au/InfoHelp/Guides/popups/

The Modules are designed around your Brown-Le May-Bursten and McMurray text books plus the Book of Readings
and sections assigned are indicated on the front page of each Module.
It is expected that you will have to do some reading before attempting many of the questions.

The Problem solving involved in the modules involves solving a number of Quiz pages (usually 5) that contain several questions (mostly multi-choice)
per page. The material covered in the Quizzes is only intended to test those areas that are appropriate for multi-choice.  There are many other
areas that will be examined using short answer style questions and your tutorials help you practice with these topics.
The CD-ROM is primarily for support in the Organic section.  There are around 50 pages in each Module (lowest is 36 highest 63), the workload
will therefore shift a little for a couple of weeks but generally will remain relatively constant throughout the semester.

Only one attempt at the quizzes in each Module is allowed in the assessable modules.
To obtain the full 5% assessment for the Modules you must obtain a total grade 50% when assessed over all the Modules and,
you must have attempted all modules. (ie. you can do some Modules well and others badly and still get your full 5% assessment).

Repeatable, non-assessable versions of the Modules will become available for practice the week before each test.
(These do not include any of the text screens – they are the Quiz pages only).

Each week you are expected to complete 1 module. A schedule of expected completion dates for the Modules is given in the Timetable above,
1 week after the completion date a module will become unavailable again.
The Modules you are assigned will only become available the week you are due to complete them.

Your feedback on the Modules is appreciated and may be made either from the Module or the On-Line-Resources by pressing the
STUDENT COMMENTS button.

Grades: To check your grades you should go to the Student Tools / My Graes. The listing will provide you with which
pages of questions have been completed in each module and your total score to date.  The final score after you have completed
all the modules will be out of half of the total possible score listed at the bottom of the page.

Moving Around: You will need to work with several Explorer windows when completing the Modules.
To navigate around the front end on the PC you can use ALT+TAB, this will toggle between Explorer windows.
On the Mac use the Internet Explorer WINDOW dropdown menu to toggle between Explorer windows
