SOLUBILITY PRODUCT
• The formation constant is the Kc when the complex is on the RHS of the equilibrium.
               Kf = [Ag(NH3)2+] / [Ag+][NH3]2
• To work out if a complex will precipitate from soln we use a solubility product KSP.
• Solubility Product  Ksp
        compound(s) D ccation(aq) + dligand(aq)
  eg.   Ni(dmg)2(s)   D      Ni2+(aq)  +   2dmg-(aq)
    Ksp = [cation]c[ligand]d  equilibrium concs.
This is defined for a saturated soln. of the compound & the ions / ligands at a given T.
 ie. no more compound can go into solution.
