DEGRADATION
Flocculation - aggregation of coll. particles due to a decrease in DG for the system.
Bridging flocculation - a long polymer molecule may weakly adsorb on many particles and drag them together.

Floc · Open aggregate.

Coagulation - Dense aggregation which results in the colloid separating out by:
• sedimentation (¯) or creaming (­)
• irreversible
