MARKOVNIKOV’S RULE
Markovnikov’s Rule  - Russian Chemist 1869
In the addition of HX to an unsymmetrical alkene the H from HX becomes attached to the carbon atom of the double bond which has the most H’s directly attached to it.

of the stability of the carbocation
