1) Addition of Br2 at room temperature
Evidence for a 2 step mechanism is provided
by the observation of the formation of the
bromo-chloro cmpd after addition of salt.
Anti addition - where
the 2 Br atoms are
added on opposite
sides of the C=C
(N.B. we can only detect this if the molecule is a cycloalkene)
