ISOMERISM
ISOMERISM IN METAL COMPLEXES
Isomers are molecules or ions having the same chemical composition but different structures.
• There are a number of different sources of isomerism in metal complexes.
• The principle involved is the same as that used in organic chemistry - the first level of differentiation is based on atom connectivity and after this the differentiation is based on the 3D arrangement of the atoms in space.
