HALF REACTION METHOD II
4) If e- appear on the RHS the rxn is an oxn.
    If e- appear on the LHS the rxn is an redn.
eg. CH3CH=CH2    ®   CH3CH(OH)C(OH)H2
       propene                propan-1,2-diol
                  acid solution
CH3CH=CH2 + 2H2O ® CH3CH(OH)C(OH)H2
CH3CH=CH2 + 2H2O ® CH3CH(OH)C(OH)H2 + 2H+
CH3CH=CH2 + 2H2O ® CH3CH(OH)C(OH)H2 + 2H+ + 2e-
As e- are on the RHS this is an oxidation
 (N.B. the organic redox material is covered
           in the Book of Readings)
