quantum number- n
(size) n = 1 ...N Defines the shell

Angular
quantum number- l (azimuthal) (shape) l = 0

Defines the subshell
l = 0 = s, l = 1
= p, l = 2 = d
Magnetic quantum number- ml
(orientation) ml = -l ...0...+l
